We’re no strangers to death.
From the constant shifting within our cells, to moments of grief and big endings, it’s an essential part of the cycle of life. Indigenous cultures all around the world hold deep reverence for this process, honoring it through ritual and making space for its medicine. They understand that death doesn’t take away from us - it’s a transformational force, the dark womb where life is born. For them, communication with those who have passed is a part of daily life.
In modern western societies these practices have been lost, creating a literal distance between us and the rituals of death. It’s time we reclaim its magic.
This workshop will help you with:
Creating a greater connection with Spirit
Finding practices to sit with death
Learning to talk about death
Learning the steps to hold sacred ritual
Lessening the fear of death
Communicating to otherworld Spirits
Meet Your Guide
Ash Canty (they/he) is a Death Walker & Spirit Usher Psychic Medium. Their ancestors are Indigenous peoples of West Africa, Indigenous tribes of Mexico, and white European colonizers. They support and walk others in the threshold and ritual of their own unique death and dying process. They are led by spirit, ancestors, and nature in all that they do. They also hold monthly "Death Out Loud" Zoom events where they unpack conversations around death and dying held in a sacred, trauma-informed, and co-created container. Ash creates deep spaciousness for others to be able to step into a non-linear time-space to hold conversations around being with the grief & praise of being alive. They provide virtual deathcare services to families and loved ones who are in the active stages of dying and are in need of: spiritual support, bedside visits, will planning, virtual ceremonies, spirit ushering, holding sacred family councils around death, and living death day celebrations.
